Kisan Samman Nidhi seeks to supplement the financial needs of all zamindari farmer families to maintain optimal crop health and appropriate yield, along with expected farm income as well as household requirements. Subject to certain exclusions, the Central Government Rs. 6000 per annum through the internet in direct benefit transfer mode to the bank account of eligible farmers.
Benefits and Requirements for Eligibility
According to the cabinet resolution made in May 2019, all land-holding qualified farmer families are to receive benefits under this scheme (subject to the applicable exclusion conditions). Around 2 crores more farmers are anticipated to be included in the revamped scheme, bringing the total number of beneficiaries for PM-KISAN to about 14.5 crores.
Exclusionary Conditions
Higher socioeconomic class recipients in the following groups are not eligible for benefits under the program.
- Institutional landowners all.
- Farmer families fall under one or more of the following categories.
- bearers of constitutional positions since formation and now.
- Former and current members of the LokSabha, RajyaSabha, state legislatures, state legislative councils, mayors of municipal corporations, and chairs of district panchayats. Former and current governments and state ministers.
- All currently former officers and staff members of Central/State Government Ministries/Offices/Departments and its field units, as well as regular staff members of Local Bodies (with the exception of Multitasking Staff/Class IV/Group D personnel).
- All superannuated or retired pensioners of the aforementioned categories, excluding multitasking staff and Class IV/Group D personnel, whose monthly pension is at least Rs. 10,000.
- individuals who paid income tax during the most recent assessment year.
- Professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, Chartered Accountants, and architects registered with professional bodies and engaged in practices to practice their professions.
Benefits Of Kisan Samman Nidhi
The 6000 rupees annual cash benefit per family is distributed in three equal installments of 2000 rupees each, spaced out over the course of four months.
